About

Sarah Bay

We wear so many hats everyday, when tasked with describing yourself, it’s difficult to say. But I have set myself the challenge of boiling down who I am without listing titles, because I know I’m more than that.

I am a person who loves to learn. I enjoyed my public school education, excelled through graduate school, and still spend my free time learning. You’ll often find me researching my latest curiosity, fact checking a meme, or watching documentaries.

I am also a believer in fairness. The world is not fair, but that doesn’t mean we should simply accept it. I suppose that makes me more of an idealist, or a romantic, but I’m also very practical.

I adhere to rules. It greatly troubles me when adults break rules, whether because they can’t be bothered with them, they think themselves above the rules, or for selfish reasons. Rules in all their forms are designed to help a society function (whether they’re fair or not). Disregard them, and you’re breaking with society. If the rules and society are wrong, change the rules.

I am also creative. My creativity comes out through many of hobbies or projects. I enjoy interior designing, refinishing older furniture, making Ukrainian style eggs, weaving chainmail jewelry, cooking, baking, playing D&D, and writing. Aside from D&D, most of those are solitary hobbies; I am, after all, an introvert too.

But this blog is all about researching and writing. I want to make children’s books that are educational and enjoyable. I’m starting with airplanes, because my daughter loves to hear about them, but I’ve already drifted into Alaskan history and culture. The purpose of this blog is to help keep me organized. It is a place I can post useful links, brain storm, and geek out a bit when I find some cool obscure fact.
